Well, whoever is implementing all these T24 core banking systems have their work cut out for them. In addition to Allied bank’s recent announcement, IBM has also announced that a similar deal for IBM servers supporting a T24 implementation has gone through at NIB Bank.
Seems like IBM and Temenos have become partners for core banking systems similar to how HP and SAP have partnered for ERP implementations. What remains to be seen is how smoothly the deployment of so many T24 core banking implementations go.

can you provide information about factors a bank looks at when selecting a core banking system.
banks number from 10 branches in 1 country to 1500 branches across 3 continents.
can you do a write-up on this?
February 13th, 2008 at 11:25 pm
Just one correction its not HP and SAP who have partnered for ERP implementations in Pakistan, its HP and Siemens who have partnered and now that SAP itself is in Pakistan and have hired a country head, things should be different.

ahhh right. good and very important point, also come to think of it, in most of the world, SAP runs on IBM hardware.in pakistan we have the siemens+HP anomaly…thanks Adnan

hi there
well let me tell u something that here is a misconcept about T24. there is no need to use any specific brand like IBM to use T-24 (temenos ) coz its an open solution n can be run on any machine coz it has the functionality of open hardware thts y temenos is becoming more popular . other core banking solutions r bound to run on specific hardware..its too costly for the bank to use specific machines coz in this case if they implement such kinda core solution then thay have to replace all machines..
if u want any information about Temenos.. u can ask

Hi, for any kind of technical/functional doubts in Temenos T24 please login to http://www.worktigers.com. Its absolutely free.

when you’re a CIO and you have to ensure core banking app uptime, you wont put it on a “free” open source solution. you’ll use proper ibm servers, proper middleware (websphere, etc) and a proper network….

As Salam-0-Alikum,
Replying to Farzal who asked some things as being a frist replier, i would like to add, First of all every bank sees how much it a system costs n how much out put it’ll give you. As every financer takes a major decision upon this rule. So as compared to Misys, iflex & other solutions available in market. Temenos T24 is less expensive, open hardware, open software & open database. So that’s the major benefit that a bank observes. While shifting to Temenos there’s no need to change your hardware infrastructure, nor ya want to change your database. You can even run it on Lynx, Windwos server 2003, can use any hardware, no matter, Dell, IBM, Compaq, HP…anykind of Database like MySql, Jbase(Temenos’s Built-in database) j4, Oracle 9i. Anyone which a bank feels satisfactoy for their needs. After this there’s no need to install specific softwares @ client side. So its being more n more popular. Now till the date 10Banks had signed the contract for the implimentation of Temenos, out of which one Private bank running live in Pakistan(After State Bank) named JS Bank. A part of JS Global Group.if somethings remains unfullfill you can write me at m.amjad.hanif@gmail.com Thanks All of you…

Can you name the 10 banks in Pakistan who have signed for T24. Allied Bank, Bank Alfalah, JS, Atlas, Meezan and NIB Bank. Who are the other 4 banks
July 30th, 2008 at 12:09 pm
This is incredible. T24 is the banking system from Temenos that has evolved out of GLOBUS. Many - or shall I say “MANNNY” banks around the world are still using GLOBUS and I have been working with GLOBUS for past 11 years. I never imagined this product would spread into Pakistan like this. I would be really interest to know how do the clients feel about this product. I have never found any reviews that say it has gone live.
July 30th, 2008 at 3:08 pm
I dont think it has gone live in a “proper” way anywhere yet. lets see what happens. web 2.0 and startups are so much more fun to write about though!
July 31st, 2008 at 9:14 am
Who is training the resources on GLOBUS/T24/jBase in Pakistan? Is there any presence of Temenos or ex-Temenos people there?
September 3rd, 2008 at 11:45 pm
NDC is local partner for Temenos and they are providing training also
September 3rd, 2008 at 11:46 pm
only State Bank and JS Bank have gone live on T24

Aaqil,
If you looking for an ideal architecture. We just integrated 6 web server, 6 queing servers, 4 T24 application servers and 4 Oracle RAC nodes. Running Temenos T24 R8 and its smoking. The bank has over two hundred branches and the sizing was done for 500 branches. They all run on IBM X3850 boxes, Red Hat Enterprise Linux 5.1, Oracle 10.2.3, JBoss Messaging (Not WAS MQ) and JBoss Web servers. It cost the bank almost nothing compared with what they would have spent on unreasonable oversized hardware and consulting.
If you want info you need to speak with Red Hat or the bank. Theres a public reference at http://www.albawaba.com/en/countries/UAE/237184
Let me know if you need more info. will be willing to help you with architecture design.

Dear friends,
we are using Temenos G13 for our Microfinance bank. now our management asking IT a question that should we upgrade it to T24 or leave this software and go for ERAPID a microfince banking software. with current G13 our users are not happy, and many time it crushes during EOD.also the license fee is much higher for us. what will you guys suggest?
January 12th, 2009 at 11:10 pm
Dump it all, call up Amaana, and have them build a small custom shell around their micropayment/core banking solution, and you’re good to go, plus you’ll get more advanced technology and scalability than most vendors can offer. Microfinance’s target customers wont be happy dealing with a branch running a heavy software package either

This is an interesting thread. Can any one tell me how T24 is doing in Islamic banking and who are the Islamic banking application leaders in the country?
Thanks

I need to know some technical details for T24.
1) Is T24 an application which doesnot need a application server to be deployed on. What I specifically mean is that T-24 works without any application server. Can I know its certification??
2) And we only need Web server so that we can route Http requests to T24??
3) Can anyone tell me how to integrate T-24 with Oracle Weblogic or anyother webserver?
Please if anyone can guide me more plz call n I will ring back : 0345-5858805

NIB have successfully rolled out over 150 branches on T24 and remaining branches are in process.
Anyways if not following may help
As far as Noman Latif’s questions are concerned, I hope he got the answer as it is too late.
1. You can say this but you need WEBSERVER if using HTTP. If you are using Globus Desktop you dont need any external application server.
2. Yes
3. You need to deploy .war file over your Web Server which will route its requests to TCServer installed on T24 server. TCServer then will directly talk to T24.
