On an inspired weekend, or maybe out of sheer frustration, I opened up notepad and Konfabulator (better known as “Yahoo Widgets”) and wrote a little handy widget that brings IT Tazee’s RSS feed to your desktop. The widget currently works for Yahoo Widgets, so you’ll need to download that if you do not have it. ![]()
You can download the widget here:

Mohtashim,
Since you have a widget for Yahoo Widgets (RIP ‘Konfabulator’), I presume you would be well versed in using it.
I am a loyal Google Gadgets fan with the sidebar running on my desktop all the time with my favourite gadgets neatly fitted in. One thing I like about Google Sidebar is that it ‘docks’ neatly and snaps to any corner of the screen. Hence when you open and maximize any other program, its program window is stretched and placed in adjacent proportions with the Google Bar and does not ‘överLaps’ the google bar.
However when i tried the Yahoo Widget Dock and tried using it in the same pattern , the program window always comes above it, even if it is anchored. Secondly the Google Indexing and search abilities are second to none, same code as of thier astrnomous web search engine.
Is there a solution to my riddle, so I can try downloading Yahoo Widget again and give it a shot.

Salman,
try this to keep your widget above other windows:
on the widget, right click and go to widget preferences,
and then select ‘window’. change the window level to “keep on top of other windows”.
As for the rest, I am currently working on a Google widget for the blog, whenever thats ready I’ll post it here too!

Err….Thanks, but then it would overlap the windows beneath it, and wont dock in a manner that the other windows automatically resize themselves when maximized.
And hey dost, the name is S.F.Hasan..not Salman..who also seems to be a regular visitor and/or a friend of yours.
Thanks anyways, maybe I will stick with google for the while
